Sheheen Releases 2013 Tax Returns, Calls for Full Transparency from Nikki Haley

Press Release

Date: June 30, 2014
Issues: Taxes

Today Sen. Vincent Sheheen released his 2013 tax returns, calling on Governor Nikki Haley once again to follow his lead after she has refused to release multiple years of returns and hidden income in the past.

The 2013 returns join the 13 years of tax returns that Sen. Sheheen has released previously and the statements of income disclosure that Sheheen has filed during his time in the Senate to provide the public with 14 years of full transparency.

"The people of South Carolina deserve a governor they can trust, and to live up to that trust, a leader must provide transparency," said Sen. Sheheen. "Governor Haley has repeatedly shown she cannot be trusted by hiding income, misrepresenting earnings, and failing to be transparent and accountable with her own conduct as well as trying to cover-up major failures in her administration. It's not ok to just talk the talk -- we have to walk the walk. I have now released 14 years of tax returns, and I call of Governor Haley to do the same."

Here are the topline numbers from the state and federal tax returns:

Total Income: $333,042
Adjusted Gross Income: $306,062
Total Federal Taxes: $79,852
Total SC Taxes: $10,115
Donations to Charity: $19,386
